dont fucking defend clara’s character its fucking bullshit and i hope this new season makes it better but her point as a character was fucking awful

also im pissed off that she could have been bi but she brushes off being with a girl as “just a phase” like moffat you fucking pile of worthless garbage what the fuck

raise your hand if you wanted to like clara as a character but always came up short because of the poor writing and explaination for her characterization

This particular moment in Star Trek is actually quite important. A lot of people don’t realise that understanding something is not the same as approving of something. This particular episode (A Taste of Armageddon) had a civilization where war was fought on computers instead of on the battlefield and instead of people dying in combat they would send the calculated amount of “casualities” into a camp to die. Kirk is outraged completely by this and rightly should be, but Spock is not so overtly disapproving. He understands why they might think their solution is better for their civilization and takes the time to think about why they are doing it. Even though he can understand why, he still believes it is wrong for them to be doing it.

There is a separation between understanding something and  approving of something that a lot of people seem to miss.

When they say “Land of the Free and Home of the Brave,” I can’t help but feel that they are talking about two different people.

Some people are free.

Some have to be brave.

straight people are so amazed that queer people can know they’re queer without some big “realization” event like idk do you guys think that normally our houses overflow with acceptance letters into the queer community and a half-giant shows up at our doorstep to bring us a cake or what

the whole idea of daddy issues makes me so uncomfortable? like your father abandoned you, you had a bad relationship with him or he abused you and we created a term to shame, humiliate and laugh at you for dealing with the emotions that come with that

this needs more notes
